Thailand has launched the 1st National Action Plan (NAP) on Business and Human Rights (2019-2022), marking Thailand as the 1st country in Asia to adopt the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights

On 16 December 2019, at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC),
Mr. Vicharn Ingsrisawang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, participated in launching the 1st National Action Plan (NAP) on Business and Human Rights (2019-2022) with Mr. Wissanu Krea-ngam, Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, presided over the ceremony. Marking Thailand as the 1st country in Asia to adopt the National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights.

The NAP was developed on a participatory process involving all concerned parties along with government sectors, state-owned enterprises, business sectors, and civil societies to prevent business impact on human rights, including populations and relevant communities. Furthermore, to promote investment, monitor business processes, and expand sustainability in the manufacturing industries supply chain.
