On the 17th of July, 2024, Mr. Choltisak Chawpaknum, the Director of the Fisheries Foreign Affairs Division, acting on behalf of the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, chaired the 4th Regional Workshop of the ASEAN Network for Combating IUU Fishing (AN-IUU) in partnership with the EU.

On the 17th of July, 2024, at the Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao Hotel, Mr. Choltisak Chawpaknum, the Director of the Fisheries Foreign Affairs Division, acting on behalf of the Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, chaired the 4th Regional Workshop of the ASEAN Network for Combating IUU Fishing (AN-IUU) in partnership with the EU.

The meeting was jointly organized by the Department of Fisheries of Thailand and the Enhanced Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument (E-READI). H.E. Mr. David Daly, the Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Thailand, gave the opening address.

The workshop scheduled for July 17 to 18, 2024, had the objective of enhancing the capacities of the ASEAN Network for Combating Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated Fishing (AN-IUU) in dealing with Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing. The event was attended by 50 participants, including delegates from 10 ASEAN member countries, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), the RPOA-IUU organization, and the Technical Assistance Facility to the Green Team Europe Initiative (TAF-GTEI). A field trip to the Samut Sakhon Fishery Inspection Office was also organized.
