On June 26, 2024, at the Department of Fisheries, Mr. Buncha Sukkaew, Director-General of the Department of Fisheries, together with Mrs. Monthakan Thamtin, Director of the Coastal Aquaculture Research and Development Division, representatives from the Fisheries Foreign Affairs, THAI FISH PROJECT JICA in Thailand, and other relevant officials, welcomed and engaged in a meeting with Mr. Masaaki Saijo, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT), and his team. The objective of the meeting was to review the outcomes of the Thai-Japanese joint research project, which is backed by funding from JICA and JST under the THAI FISH PROJECT. The Department of Fisheries is the primary organization accountable for the research, in partnership with educational institutions and NSTDA in Thailand, and the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT).
